- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Location: Mason City, IA (50401) — travel nursing job in North Iowa
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 19, 2026 – July 18, 2026)
- Shift: 12 Hour Days (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed)
- Employment Type: Travel (Travel RN / Travel Nurse)
- Unit: Ortho/5W (Orthopedics / Medical-Surgical)
- Schedule: Every third weekend, including July 4th
Job Requirements
- Active RN license (Medical/Surgical specialty) — valid for practice in Iowa or eligible for compact licensure
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association preferred)
- Ability to complete onboarding health and competency requirements (drug screen, fit test, immunizations, specialty competency testing)
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Med/Surg and orthopedic nursing care to patients on the Ortho/5W unit
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Provide post-operative orthopedic care, mobility assistance, and support for surgical patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, physical therapy, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor patient progress, document care accurately in the EMR, and communicate changes to the team
- Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and discharge planning
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety/quality standards
