Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Location: Marquette, MI 49855 — Med/Surg RN jobs in Marquette, Michigan
- Facility: 225-bed specialty care hospital (Heart & Vascular, Cancer Center, Neuro, Rehab)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 3, 2026 – August 2, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Weekend Hours: Rotating
- Unit: Acute Medical/Surgical (6th Floor)
- Patient Ratio: 5:1 to 6:1
- Equipment: Telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pump, bladder scanner, Dynamaps
- Electronic Health Record: Cerner
- Position Type: Travel RN / Med/Surg Registered Nurse
Med/Surg RN Requirements
- Active RN license (state-specific requirements apply)
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (2 years preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
- Strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and occasionally high-stress environment
- Galaxy blue or navy scrubs required; compliance with facility dress code and hand hygiene policy
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients (ages 18–125) on the Medical/Surgical unit
- Monitor patient conditions and administer medications and treatments per provider orders
- Utilize telemetry monitoring and IV/pump technology (Baxter, Kangaroo) for patient care and safety
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Cerner EHR
- Occasional float to similar units as needed to support staffing and continuity of care
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing training to maintain clinical competencies
