Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890 – $2,000
- Location: Baltimore, MD 21201 (Baltimore, MD travel nursing; Maryland nursing jobs)
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Start Date: May 11, 2026
- Shift: 3 x 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: Transplant Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) — Cardiac Stepdown / Transplant Nurse role
- Patient Population: Adults – Geriatrics
- Unit Size: 27 rooms; daily census ~24
- Weekend Coverage: Every third weekend required
- Holiday Coverage: Required as scheduled
- Floating: May float within specialty and sister facilities as needed
Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Intermediate Care (IMC) or stepdown nursing experience (required)
- Transplant experience required (vascular, kidney, or liver transplant post-op care)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA only)
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record (Epic charting) preferred
- Ability to float within scope across specialty IMC and sister units
- Two professional references (recent supervisor/manager and charge RN)
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Must reside 50+ miles from facility (locals not accepted)
Key Responsibilities (Cardiac Stepdown / Transplant RN)
- Provide comprehensive post-operative care for vascular, kidney, and liver transplant patients in the Transplant IMC
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring, neurovascular assessments, and continuous clinical surveillance
- Monitor surgical sites for bleeding, infection, and evaluate graft function and signs of rejection
- Administer pain management, immunosuppressants, anticoagulation, and IV therapies safely
- Monitor labs, urine output, fluid balance, and electrolyte management
- Identify and intervene for complications such as thrombosis, graft dysfunction, and acute rejection
- Provide patient and family education on medication adherence, post-op care, discharge planning, and lifestyle adjustments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social work, and transplant specialists
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Participate in unit orientation, competency validation, and ongoing clinical education
