Job Details — Travel CVICU RN
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00–19:30, Night: 19:00–07:30); weekdays, some weekends, rotating holidays
- Location: Columbus, OH 43210 — Ohio travel nursing job
- Patient Ratio: 1:1–2 (Cardiac ICU RN staffing)
- Float: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Orientation: 24 hours
Cardiac ICU RN Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac ICU or CVICU experience preferred (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience)
- Active RN license (compact license accepted or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Experience with Epic electronic health record required (Epic charting)
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred (travel nurse, travel RN)
- Graduated from ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Two professional references (one from manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable for second reference)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
CVICU RN Responsibilities — Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse
- Provide expert critical care for adult patients with complex cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular conditions (Cardiac ICU care)
- Manage and monitor advanced life support and mechanical circulatory support devices including ECMO, CRRT, IABP, Impella, ventricular assist devices (VAD), and ventilators
- Perform and manage invasive monitoring: Swan-Ganz/PA catheters, arterial lines, PA line management, IV starts, and hemodynamic assessments
- Care for post-cardiac surgery patients (CABG, valve repair, TAVR, heart/lung transplant, structural repairs)
- Respond to acute events including low cardiac output syndrome, unstable dysrhythmias, respiratory failure, stroke, sepsis, renal impairment, and GI bleed
- Administer conscious sedation and assist with procedures per unit protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, and rapid response teams
- Float to other units within the organization as needed while maintaining high-quality patient care
- Maintain compliance with credentialing, fingerprinting, and hospital-specific requirements
