Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Philadelphia, PA

13-week Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) contract in University City, Philadelphia (19104) — perioperative nursing role at a modern 6-OR surgery center. • Location: Philadelphia, PA 19104 – University City Philadelphia nursing jobs; easy access to parks, museums, and top dining.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (temporary/per diem OR RN opportunity)
• Start Date: June 15, 2026
• Shifts: 4x10 hour shifts (7:00am – 5:30pm), Monday–Friday, no call or weekends
  Alternative: 3x10 hour shifts (Tue/Wed/Thu, 7:00am – 5:30pm)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370 – $2,500 (competitive weekly pay for perioperative nursing)
• Openings: 3 OR RN positions available
• Setting: Ambulatory Surgery Center (OR and PACU) — ideal for experienced surgical nurses and PACU nurses

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania
• At least 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience (perioperative nursing experience; 2+ years preferred)
• ACLS certification required
• Experience in thoracic surgery, surgical pathology, sub-acute, pediatric PACU, or pediatric OR is a plus (perioperative specialty experience preferred)

Responsibilities

• Circulate and/or scrub as an OR RN in a variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties (perioperative duties)
• Function as a scrub nurse and/or circulating nurse, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs
• Provide comprehensive patient assessment and monitoring before, during, and after surgery, including PACU handoffs for post-anesthesia care nurses
• Maintain sterile technique, OR safety protocols, and infection control standards in the surgery center
• Deliver compassionate patient and family education, pre-op and post-op support, and clear communication regarding care plans
