Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Position: Travel Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Jacksonville, NC 28546 (Jacksonville, North Carolina travel nursing)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Night — 4x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Required
- On-Site Position: Yes
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience (telemetry/Med-Surg RN)
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (CPI may be completed prior to start)
- Clinical proficiency with insulin, heparin, and Lasix drips
- Experience with Meditech charting system preferred (electronic medical record experience)
- Ability to float to units with similar or lower acuity as needed
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- No local candidates within a 50-mile radius for this travel nursing role
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care as a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for adults with cardiac, diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal, general surgery, and orthopedic diagnoses
- Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms; manage and titrate insulin, heparin, and Lasix drips safely
- Perform thorough assessments, medication administration, and clinical interventions consistent with scope of practice
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including RNs, LPNs, PCTs, CNAs, and unit secretaries
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Meditech and follow unit policies for charting and patient safety
- Float to units with similar or lower acuity and participate in weekend/holiday coverage as scheduled
