• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,350 - $2,470
• Job Type: Travel Nurse – Endoscopy RN, Travel Nursing
• Location: Weirton, West Virginia (26062) — West Virginia nursing jobs, Northern West Virginia
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour days (Monday–Friday, shifts between 6:30am–3:00pm or 7:00am–3:30pm)
• Hours: 40 hours per week guaranteed
• Call Requirements: 2 weeknights per week; 1 weekend per month (Friday evening to Monday morning); holiday rotation may be required
• Care Setting: Acute care – Endoscopy Pre/Post & Intraoperative (GI endoscopy unit, perioperative)
• Orientation: 3–5 days unit-specific orientation

Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – West Virginia or Compact State accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy nursing experience or GI endoscopy experience
• Proficient with IV starts and perioperative patient care
• Ability to float between Pre/Post and Intra-op areas (cross-training encouraged)
• Must submit a copy of unexpired driver's license
• Experience with Cerner charting system / Cerner EHR preferred

Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative patient assessments including medical history, allergies, and current medications
• Prepare patients physically and emotionally for GI endoscopy procedures; explain expectations and answer questions
• Administer pre-procedure medications as prescribed and assist with moderate sedation per facility policy
• Monitor patients in recovery, addressing pain, nausea, airway and other post-procedure concerns
• Provide clear discharge instructions regarding medications, follow-up care, and dietary restrictions
• Ensure patients meet criteria for safe discharge or transfer to inpatient care
• Assist with common endoscopy cases such as EGD, colonoscopies, ERCPs, and PEG tube placements
• Collaborate with anesthesia, gastroenterologists, and respiratory therapy as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and uphold patient safety and infection control standards
