Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year recent RN experience in stepdown, telemetry, medical-surgical, or cardiac unit (2+ years preferred)
• Active RN license in Hawaii (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Additional certifications preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
• Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required

Key Responsibilities (Cardiac Stepdown / Travel RN)

• Provide high-quality patient care in Cardiac Stepdown (telemetry) and float to Medical-Surgical and Cardiovascular units as needed
• Monitor cardiac patients, interpret telemetry, and manage acute changes in condition
• Use Meditech EMR for documentation and Pyxis for medication administration
• Care for patients with chest tubes and wound vac management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence-based care
• Adhere to hospital policies, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in unit-specific training and orientation
• Manage nurse-to-patient ratios: Medical (1:8 nights), Laulima (1:6), Cardiovascular (1:4)
