- Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit (hospital respiratory therapist)

- Shift: 12 Hour Days
- Hours per Week: 36

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,520 – $1,640
Job Requirements — Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Qualifications
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC) required
- Cardiopulmonary certification required
- At least 1 year of recent hospital-based respiratory therapy experience (hospital respiratory therapist experience preferred)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment
- Strong communication and patient education skills for respiratory patient care and discharge planning
Responsibilities — Respiratory Therapist Duties
- Conduct patient assessments, including interviews, bedside checks, and evaluation of lung function and lung capacity
- Administer aerosolized medications, perform chest physiotherapy, and maintain patient airways
- Set up, monitor, and manage ventilators and mechanical ventilation for patients in intensive care or requiring life support (ventilator management)
- Respond to emergencies, including assisting with intubation and performing CPR as part of rapid response teams
- Conduct and interpret arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and pulmonary function tests (PFTs)
- Educate patients and families on managing chronic lung conditions and using home medical equipment (home oxygen, inhaler techniques)
