Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut — must be eligible to work in Hartford, CT
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry RN or Cardiac Telemetry experience
- Experience administering and titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem / Diltiazem)
- Strong EKG interpretation and telemetry monitoring skills
- Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as required
- Compliance with standard onboarding requirements: immunizations, background check, competency testing, and professional verifications
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality cardiac patient monitoring and assessment in a telemetry/surgical cardiology setting
- Administer, titrate, and monitor cardiac drips and vasoactive medications safely
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond rapidly to telemetry changes and emergencies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, surgeons, and advanced practice providers
- Accurately document patient status, interventions, and telemetry findings in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, post-op care, and recovery plans
- Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient safety and cardiac care outcomes
