- Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel Nurse (Critical Care RN)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Travel assignment / Contract)
- Location: Roanoke, VA 24014 (Blue Ridge Mountains area)
- Setting: Resource Nursing Pool – ICU / PCU / Med-Surg float (Float Pool)
- Shifts: Nights, 3x12-hour (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
- Start / End Date: May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026
- Charting System: EPIC (experience required)
- Orientation: 24 hours
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (Virginia or Compact State) – eligible for Virginia nursing jobs
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU / critical care RN experience in a large Level I or II facility
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
- Proficient with EPIC electronic charting and documentation
- Comfortable floating between ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg with patient ratios up to 1:6
- COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to work at least one holiday during the assignment
- Previous charge nurse experience and Level I trauma experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients across ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg units as a critical care RN
- Float as needed based on staffing requirements (may float 2–3 times per shift) as part of the Resource Nursing Pool / float pool
- Manage and monitor advanced interventions including ventilator management, cardiac monitoring, and titration of vasoactive drips
- Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC and central line management, arterial line care, and blood product administration
- Provide non-invasive airway support (CPAP/BiPAP), trach care, and chest tube management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Accurately document all care and interventions in EPIC and maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions
