Assignment Overview
- Position: CVOR Registered Nurse (Operating Room RN / Perioperative RN)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel assignment)
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- Location: Greenville, NC 27834 — Eastern North Carolina healthcare job
- Shifts: 10-hour day shifts (7:00am–5:00pm or 9:00am–7:00pm)
- Hours per Week: 40 (call and weekend call required)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,620 – $2,760 (competitive travel RN pay)
- Setting: 7 CVOR suites; typical 1:1 RN-to-patient ratio
Key Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or Compact RN license
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR (cardiovascular operating room) experience
- Demonstrated ability to circulate in the operating room; scrub skills a plus
- Willingness to take call, including weekend rotations
- Compliance with 80-mile radius rule
Responsibilities (CVOR / Operating Room Nurse)
- Provide direct perioperative care for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical patients as a CVOR RN
- Circulate and/or scrub during complex procedures including CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, LVAD placement, vascular repairs, and thoracic procedures
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field; set up and manage surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes
- Perform surgical counts, specimen handling, and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Respond to intraoperative emergencies and participate in on-call rotations as required
