Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,130 – $1,210
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts (02115) — travel healthcare job
- Setting: Hospital – Central Sterile Processing (CSP / SPD)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 24, 2026 – August 22, 2026)
- Shift: 8-hour nights (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM), Monday–Friday with rotating weekends
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Employment Type: Travel Sterile Processing Technician / SPD Technician
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) — Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) required
- Minimum 1 year of recent sterile processing experience in a hospital or surgical setting
- Working knowledge of case cart assembly, tray set-up, and materials management
- Familiarity with sterilization equipment (steam, EO) and biological/chemical indicators
- Ability to perform tests and inspections to evaluate quality and instrument performance
Key Responsibilities
- Perform instrument decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and sterilization following hospital policies and infection control standards
- Process specialty and general surgical instruments; reset and verify instrument sets and case carts for OR/Procedure areas
- Operate and monitor sterilizers and process documentation; perform biological and chemical indicator testing
- Maintain Central Sterile stock levels, manage inventory, and document supplies for materials management
- Prepare and assemble surgical trays and equipment according to tray listings and departmental protocols
- Identify and report damaged instruments; coordinate instrument repair or replacement with the supervisor
- Support surgical services and clinical teams by ensuring timely and accurate instrument availability
