Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) – Rockford, IL. Join a Level 1 Trauma Center performing interventional cardiovascular and neuro procedures; ARRT, BLS, ACLS required.

  • Shift: Day Shift with On-Call Rotation (weeknights, weekends, and holidays)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 32 per week (typical: 36 hrs/wk)
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030 – $2,190

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program; ARRT(R) certification required
  • IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required
  • ARRT(VI) or ARRT(CI) required (Interventional or Cardiovascular-Interventional registry)
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist, preferably in a hospital, trauma center, or interventional setting

Key Responsibilities (Interventional Radiology / Cardiac Cath Lab)

  • Perform diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures, including cardiovascular, neurological, and electrophysiology interventions
  • Operate fluoroscopy and digital imaging systems to acquire high-quality images and 3D reconstructions
  • Position patients and imaging equipment to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation dose; advocate for radiation safety and document exposure
  • Verify patient identification, informed consent, and allergies prior to procedures
  • Prepare/maintain sterile supplies and equipment; scrub with physicians using sterile and aseptic techniques
  • Monitor and record vital signs, assess distal pulses, and participate in pre-procedural time-outs
  • Assist physicians with contrast agent selection, equipment operation, catheter manipulation, and medication administration
  • Provide post-procedural care, including applying dressings and closure devices and monitoring for complications
  • Assist with ultrasound-guided vascular access and biopsies as needed
  • Respond to patient emergencies during procedures and maintain critical medical equipment
  • Acquire, process, and enhance digital images; document procedures and radiation dose in the medical record
  • Provide practical instruction and mentorship to students, new staff, and team members
