Job Details – Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel Radiology Tech)

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,600 – $2,790
  • Location: Kansas City, KS 66160 (Kansas City healthcare jobs)
  • Setting: Hospital – Interventional Radiology Unit (high-volume IR)
  • Employment Type: Travel Contract – 13 weeks
  • Start Date: May 3, 2026
  • End Date: August 2, 2026
  • Shift: 10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday (40 hours/week)
  • On-Call: As needed
  • Weekend/Holiday: No weekend or holiday requirements
  • Orientation: Comprehensive orientation provided (Mon–Fri, bi-weekly)

Required Qualifications – IR Technologist / Radiologic Technologist

  • Minimum 2 years of interventional radiology and scrub experience required
  • Peripheral and neurovascular experience preferred (vascular access, biopsies, light neuro cases)
  • Experience in large hospital settings preferred (high-volume IR units)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiography certification required
  • Kansas State Board of Healing Arts license required (must be in hand prior to start)
  • Ability to float to Cambridge IR as needed
  • Must comply with nicotine-free facility policy

Key Responsibilities – Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech Duties

  • Perform a wide range of interventional radiology procedures in a siloed, high-volume environment (approx. 60–65 cases per day)
  • Operate Siemens systems including Artis icono, Artis Q, and Artis zee (single-plane)
  • Assist with vascular and peripheral procedures, handle all lines hospital-wide including outpatient services
  • Manage cases neck-down with occasional light neuro overflow (e.g., thyroid biopsies)
  • Maintain sterile technique and scrub for IR procedures; support patient positioning, imaging acquisition, and specimen handling
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care in the radiology department
  • Participate in orientation, ongoing competency training, and quality improvement initiatives as required
