Job Details – Travel Nursing Job
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 - $2,600
- Location: Ottumwa, IA 52501 (Ottumwa, Iowa travel nurse opportunity)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM); 36 hours per week
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Employment Type: Travel, On-Site (Travel Nurse / L&D RN)
Job Requirements – Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be valid for the state of assignment)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience — maternal-child care, fetal monitoring, and newborn stabilization
- Experience with electronic health records (Meditech preferred) and fetal monitoring systems such as Philips TraceVue
- Ability to float to other hospital units as needed (flexible travel nurse)
Responsibilities – Labor & Delivery RN
- Provide direct patient care to laboring mothers and newborns in the Labor & Delivery unit (maternal-child nursing)
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using intermediate fetal monitoring and Philips TraceVue equipment
- Maintain patient ratios: active labor 1:1, couplet care 3:1 to ensure safe, high-quality care
- Perform newborn stabilization and routine post-delivery assessments with NRP and STABLE principles
- Document care accurately and timely in Meditech EHR (electronic health record)
- Collaborate with OB/GYN, anesthesia, neonatology, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other units within the hospital as required by staffing needs
