Job Details – Travel Nurse / RN

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890 (Travel Nurse pay)
• Location: Ottumwa, IA 52501 (Ottumwa healthcare / Iowa nursing jobs)
• Setting: Medical/Surgical Unit (Med/Surg RN / Medical-Surgical Nurse)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 7/27/2026)
• Shift: 12 Hour Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 per week (please indicate preference upon submission)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 (with CNA and LPN support)
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): MediTech

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) RN experience
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association preferred)
• ACLS certification a plus but not required
• Mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult)
• Drug screening (10-panel including opiates)
• Recent titers within the last 12 months
• Fully cleared background checks (criminal and child abuse) prior to start
• Travel nursing experience preferred but not required
• Ability to float within a 25-mile radius if needed

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical setting
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (RN, LPN, CNA, physicians) to ensure seamless patient care
• Monitor patient status, document care and progress in the MediTech EHR
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed per facility policy
• Provide patient and family education and discharge planning support
• Maintain compliance with all facility, state, and regulatory requirements
• May be required to float to nearby units within a 25-mile radius
