Job Details – PACU Travel Nurse
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580 - $1,660
- Location: Atlanta, GA 30342 (Atlanta healthcare / Georgia nursing jobs)
- Position: PACU Travel Nurse / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit RN (Pre-Op Ground Floor – RN OR)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 8-hour days, Monday–Friday (5:30am–2:00pm)
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Employment Type: Travel (Travel Nurse / PACU RN)
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU RN experience, including Neuro and Thoracic specialties (Neuro PACU, Thoracic PACU)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Georgia license preferred or compact/eligible)
- Certifications required: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Experience in pediatric PACU, pediatric OR, surgical pathology, thoracic surgery, or sub-acute settings is a plus
- Must be outside 50-mile local radius (no local candidates within 50 miles) — open to travel nurses
Responsibilities – PACU / Perioperative Nursing
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-anesthesia care to surgical patients in a fast-paced PACU environment
- Monitor patient recovery and assess vital signs, neuro status, and respiratory function; respond promptly to changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including pain management and post-op orders
- Collaborate with perioperative and multidisciplinary teams (surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR staff) to ensure safe handoffs and optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation in the electronic medical record
- Utilize neuro and thoracic clinical expertise to support specialty cases and high-acuity patients
