- End Date: August 17, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 – 19:00), 3 shifts per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,360 – $2,480 (competitive pay for travel nurses)
Job Requirements
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse). Eligibility to practice in Virginia preferred for Norfolk nursing jobs.
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (Cardiovascular ICU/CVICU preferred); critical care nurse experience required
- Experience with advanced cardiovascular support equipment required:
- Nx or Next Stage CRRT (continuous renal replacement therapy)
- Impella 5.5
- IABP (Teleflex) – intra-aortic balloon pump
- Ability to pass a virtual CVICU skills assessment (List A)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill cardiovascular patients as a CVICU Registered Nurse
- Continuously monitor, assess, and document patient status and response to treatment in the cardiac ICU
- Operate, troubleshoot, and manage advanced cardiovascular support devices (CRRT, Impella, IABP)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (cardiology, perfusion, surgery, respiratory therapy) to develop individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, device management, and recovery expectations
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and unit protocols to maintain high standards of care
