Job Details
- Location: Charleston, WV (25302) — Charleston, West Virginia travel nursing opportunity
- Setting: Labor & Delivery – Regional Tertiary Care Unit (Obstetrics, Maternal Child Health)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
- Start Date: 4/30/2026 (Orientation every other Thursday)
- Shifts: 3 or 4 night shifts per week (3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts; 7:00pm – 7:30am); weekdays and every other weekend
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680 – $1,770 (travel RN pay estimate)
- Hours per Week: 36–48 (option for full-time hours)
- On-Site Position: On-site Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse role
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (L&D nurse, obstetrics RN)
- Active RN license in West Virginia or Compact State (pending WV license accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (American Heart Association required)
- Cerner, Surginet, and Fetallink documentation experience required
- Circulating experience in the OR setting and Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) required
- IV start, triage, and scrub skills a plus — strong clinical and triage skills preferred
- Must be able to float to Mother Baby unit as needed
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions accepted)
- Must live at least 100 miles from facility (exceptions for 75–99 miles considered case by case)
- Minimum 2 manager or charge references within the past 2 years
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients in a 14-bed L&D unit with 6 triage beds, 2 ORs, 2 recovery beds, and 2 high-risk antepartum beds
- Collaborate with midwives and physicians to optimize the childbirth experience for all patients, from minimal-intervention births to high-risk obstetric cases
- Float to Mother Baby unit as needed to support maternal-child care
- Perform circulating duties in the OR and utilize Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) for continuous fetal assessment
- Initiate IVs, triage patients, and assist with scrub duties when required
- Document nursing care using Cerner, Surginet, and Fetallink systems (electronic health record experience required)
- Participate in orientation and complete required modules prior to start to ensure full travel nurse readiness
