Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN) or diploma in nursing
• Current RN licensure in the state of New Mexico (or equivalent state licensure required for assignment)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Proficient in English (read, write, speak)
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience preferred (acute care experience highly valued)
• Open availability to work per scheduling policy (night-shift travel nurse)
• US Citizenship required for facility clearance

Responsibilities – Acute Care RN

• Provide comprehensive acute nursing care including assessment, clinical decision-making, and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Administer medications safely and document medication administration according to policy
• Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Assess and triage new or ill patients; coordinate referrals to higher levels of care as needed
• Respond to medical emergencies, perform emergency procedures, and notify providers for treatment orders
• Prepare and maintain exam/treatment rooms and clinical equipment
• Supervise, educate, and guide nursing and non-licensed medical staff as appropriate
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and support audits, reports, and accreditation processes
• Monitor pharmacy use and ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and medication safety protocols
• Provide patient-centered health education, discharge teaching, and counseling to promote continuity of care
• Inspect medical units for safety and security, ensuring proper storage and disposal of supplies
