Labor & Delivery RN (Travel Nurse) – Night Shift in North Austin, TX. 13-week travel contract; 12-hour nights; L&D experience and current BLS/NRP/ACLS required.

Join a dynamic Labor & Delivery (L&D) team on a 13-week travel nursing assignment at a modern medical center in North Austin, TX. This high-volume, 32-bed Labor & Delivery unit offers the latest perinatal technology, a collaborative OB team, and a supportive clinical environment for experienced L&D nurses and OB RNs.

Job Details

• Location: Austin, TX 78758 – North Austin; enjoy the vibrant live music, food scene, parks, and easy access to city amenities.
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), alternating weekends
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730 – $1,820 (Competitive travel nurse pay)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: 32-bed Labor & Delivery unit (Perinatal care, OB triage, delivery suites)
• Position Type: On-site travel assignment (Travel Nurse)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (L&D RN / OB RN)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
• Competency in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), sterile vaginal exams (SVE), and C-section circulation
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for documentation
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Ability to adhere to attendance and dress code policies (navy blue scrubs required)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perinatal nursing care to laboring patients, including assessment, monitoring, and support throughout labor and delivery
• Assist with and circulate during C-sections, spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVDs), cerclages, and trial of labor after cesarean (TOLAC) procedures
• Utilize and monitor advanced fetal monitoring and delivery equipment (Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco)
• Perform Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) interpretation and timely documentation in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatology, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Uphold unit protocols, patient safety standards, and evidence-based perinatal practices
