Job Details — Travel Nurse / CVICU RN

• Location: Falls Church, VA 22042 (Northern Virginia, near Washington, D.C.)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse (CVICU / Cardiac ICU)
• Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) — Cardiac ICU RN role
• Start Date: April 26, 2026
• End Date: July 25, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,110 – $2,220
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 1 major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's), including the day before, day of, and day after
• Floating: Primary between CICU and CVICU; first to float to other ICUs, Stepdown/Progressive Care/IMC/Tele Units as needed
• EMR: Epic (experience with Epic EMR preferred)
• Scrubs: Navy blue pants and solid navy-blue or white tops; jackets in solid navy blue or white

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or a Compact State (required for travel nurse placement)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years recent, dedicated Cardiac ICU / CVICU / CCU experience
• Proven competency with advanced cardiac modalities: VV/VA ECMO, IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), Impella, CRRT, TTM/Arctic Sun, PA catheter-guided therapy
• Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips and manage cardiac arrhythmias
• Experience titrating and managing cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Strong clinical skills with post-op CABG, heart and lung transplant care, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure management, post IR/PCI procedures, and TEVAR patients
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills — strong fit for multidisciplinary ICU teams

Responsibilities — Cardiac ICU RN / Critical Care Nurse

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients in the CVICU
• Monitor, assess, and accurately document patient status and response to therapy
• Operate and manage advanced cardiac support devices and therapies (ECMO, IABP, Impella, CRRT)
• Interpret EKG rhythm strips and respond rapidly to cardiac emergencies
• Administer, titrate, and monitor cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans
• Float as needed to other critical care units and stepdown/progressive care units
• Participate in orientation, in-service training, and competency maintenance to support clinical excellence
