Job Details

• Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) / Obstetric Nurse (Travel)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: May 18, 2026
• End Date: August 17, 2026
• Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit / Maternity
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM); every other weekend required
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
• Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse (New York nursing job)

Minimum Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active RN license (New York RN license required or compact state requirements met)
• Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) — L&D / obstetric nursing experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year recent clinical experience in Labor & Delivery, obstetrics, or maternity care
• BLS certification (AHA preferred); additional certifications (NRP, ACLS) are a plus
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend (night shift L&D experience preferred)
• Strong communication, patient education, and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary clinical support

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients and newborns as an L&D Registered Nurse
• Continuous maternal and fetal monitoring, interpretation of fetal heart tracings, and timely escalation of concerns
• Assist physicians and midwives with spontaneous vaginal deliveries, operative deliveries, and obstetric procedures
• Support cesarean section prep and post-op care as needed; provide immediate newborn care and initial neonatal stabilization
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and epidural management per provider orders
• Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery, and early postpartum care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with maternity, NICU, anesthesia, and surgical teams to optimize patient outcomes
