- Location: Columbus, OH 43210 — Columbus healthcare opportunity in a vibrant city with cultural attractions and strong community resources.
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse (Travel Nursing assignment)
- Unit: Medical-Surgical Oncology / Bone Marrow Transplant
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30), 3 shifts per week — Night Shift Oncology RN role
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Contract Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 5/18/2026 – End: 9/7/2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 – $2,040 (competitive weekly pay for travel nurses)
- Orientation: 72 hours
Job Requirements – Oncology RN / BMT Nurse
- Active RN license required (compact or Ohio state license required at submission) — Ohio nursing jobs candidates welcome
- Minimum 2 years recent Medical-Surgical and Oncology RN experience (within the last 3 years)
- At least 1 year current specialty experience in Oncology or Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT nurse experience)
- Travel nursing experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- EPIC electronic charting experience required
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leader)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after contract signing
- Preferred: ACLS, ONS Chemotherapy Certification, hematology oncology (heme/onc) experience, CAR-T familiarity
Responsibilities – Oncology RN / Hematology Oncology
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex hematologic and oncologic diagnoses (leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, etc.).
- Care for patients undergoing autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapy; follow BMT protocols and safety procedures.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage central and peripheral lines, administer blood products, and provide feeding tube care.
- Recognize and activate rapid response protocols and implement infection prevention measures specific to immunocompromised patients.
- Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed to support unit staffing and patient needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, social services, case management, and specialty providers.
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC electronic medical records and maintain clear communication with the care team.
- Participate in self-scheduling, adapt to unit needs, and support quality and safety initiatives on the unit.
