- Location: Washington, DC 20007 — Georgetown area (Washington DC travel nursing, DC nursing jobs)
- Unit: S44 Transplant ICU (Transplant ICU RN, Critical Care)
- Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (19:00 - 07:30)
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/18/2026 – End: 8/17/2026)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770 – $1,860
- Hours per Week: 36
- Orientation Hours: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float Requirement: May float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 (critical care patient ratio)
- Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
- Unit Size: 24 beds, average daily census 14
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required (critical care RN, transplant experience preferred)
- Active DC RN license required (pending license accepted for later start dates; license must be in hand prior to start)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Competency in dysrhythmia interpretation, multi-system organ failure management, IV insulin protocols, GI surgery, and renal failure care
- Experience with post-neurosurgery management (EVD, ICP monitoring), hypothermia/Arctic Sun protocol, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and respiratory/thoracic critical care
- Strong infection prevention practices, isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, and wound care skills
- Charge RN experience preferred
- Cerner charting experience preferred (electronic health record experience helpful)
- Two (2) supervisor references required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (if applicable)
Responsibilities (ICU RN / Transplant ICU)
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill and post-transplant patients in the Transplant ICU
- Monitor and manage complex patient conditions including multi-organ failure, post-transplant care, and neurological cases
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and perform advanced nursing procedures (EVD care, ICP monitoring, wound vacs)
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, respond to dysrhythmias, and implement ACLS protocols as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR and ensure compliance with infection prevention and isolation protocols
- Float to other units of equivalent or lower acuity as required
- Participate in orientation and complete required facility/unit-specific modules
