• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Travel RN contract)
• Start Date: May 4, 2026 (targeted; bi-weekly orientations)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30) — night shift PICU RN
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required

Qualifications & Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent PICU RN experience (pediatric critical care experience preferred)
• Active NC RN license or Compact RN license in hand
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience preferred (Epic experience for travel nurses)
• Previous charge experience, community hospital, LTAC, or Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• First-time travelers and local candidates (within 75 miles) welcome
• One supervisory reference from the past year required

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality pediatric critical care nursing in a pediatric cardiac intensive care setting
• Manage and monitor pediatric patients with complex congenital heart disease and post-surgical needs
• Utilize advanced life support and specialty equipment including VADs, ECMO, CRRT, and ventilators
• Perform and assist with specialized procedures (e.g., lumbar puncture, intubation, arterial line management)
• Administer medications, blood products, and chemotherapy as needed following nursing protocols
• Maintain infection control and isolation precautions for pediatric patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV therapy, physical therapy, and social services
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic medical records
• Float to other units as required to support patient care
