Job Details

• Location: Olney, MD 20832 — Maryland travel nurse opportunity (close to Washington, D.C.)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 25, 2026 – August 24, 2026)
• Role: Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) / Perioperative Nurse
• Setting: Operating Room (OR), Community Hospital
• Shift: 3 x 12-hour day shifts (06:45 – 19:15)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Call: Up to 12 hours per week (Mon 7p – Fri 7a) & 12 hours weekend call (Fri 7p – Sun 7p); every other holiday required
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,050 – $2,160 (competitive pay for Travel OR RN)

Travel OR RN Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state (pending MD license may be accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room (OR) / perioperative nursing experience with General Surgery
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• Experience with a wide range of surgical procedures (appendectomy, arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laminectomy/discectomy, laparoscopic procedures, mastectomy, total joint replacement, thyroidectomy, and more)
• Ability to take call as scheduled, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Two (2) supervisor references required

Key Responsibilities (Perioperative / Surgical Nurse)

• Circulate and/or scrub for a variety of surgical cases across multiple specialties as an Operating Room Nurse
• Maintain patient safety and adherence to universal protocols (time-out procedures, infection control, specimen handling/labeling)
• Ensure sterile field integrity and apply perioperative aseptic techniques during procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality perioperative care for adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients
• Respond to code situations and participate in fire safety and emergency procedures as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide coverage as scheduled
• Complete all required orientation and facility-specific training modules within designated timeframes
