Join a nationally recognized hospital in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio as a Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN). This travel nurse opportunity on the HVTI-Stepdown/Telemetry unit offers hands-on progressive care for patients recovering from cardiovascular surgery and complex cardiac procedures. Ideal candidates will have strong cardiac telemetry skills, stepdown experience, and current Ohio RN licensure (or Compact RN license).

• Role: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) / Cardiac Telemetry Nurse / Progressive Care Nurse
• Setting: HVTI-Stepdown / Cardiac Step-down / Telemetry unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 5/15/2026 – End: 8/14/2026)
• Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (3x12s per week), days (7:00am – 7:30pm) and nights (7:00pm – 7:30am); rotation may be required
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 – $2,250 (travel nurse pay range)
• Employment Type: Travel / Contract Registered Nurse (RN)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months recent Cardiac Stepdown / Stepdown / Telemetry experience (travel experience accepted)
• Active, permanent Ohio RN license or Compact State RN license in hand at time of submission
• Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (active, not pending)
• One supervisory reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty
• Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
• COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to work at least every other holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients, including post–cardiovascular surgery and interventional cardiology recovery
• Continuous cardiac monitoring, accurate ECG interpretation, and rapid recognition of rhythm changes
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, titrate drips per protocol, and perform cardiac-specific interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (cardiology, CV surgery, respiratory therapy, pharmacy) to develop individualized care plans
• Float to related units (J1-2, J33, and ED) as needed to support similar patient populations
• Document all patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Participate in orientation, competency assessments, and ongoing education to maintain cardiac care best practices
