- Setting: Short Term Acute Care, General Medicine/Telemetry Unit (16 beds)
- Start Date: May 18, 2026
- End Date: August 17, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 6:30am–7:00pm, Night: 6:30pm–7:00am)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per contract)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,710 – $1,800
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry RN experience (Med-Surg RN, Telemetry RN)
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required (travel nursing experience preferred)
- Active DC RN license (pending accepted with proof; must have in hand before start)
- BLS certification required (AHA preferred)
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
- Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed (float pool flexibility)
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Two supervisor references required
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex, multisystem diagnoses (acute care, inpatient medicine)
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias as a Telemetry RN (cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition)
- Manage IV therapy, including PICC and peripheral line care and IV starts (IV therapy, central line care)
- Provide feeding tube care and management (enteral feeding, PEG/NG care)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services)
- Adhere to isolation precautions and infection control protocols (hospital safety, infection prevention)
- Document care using Cerner EMR and manage medications via Pyxis (electronic medical record experience required)
- Participate in rapid response/code teams as needed (code team, emergency response)
- Float to other units as required (flexible Med-Surg/Telemetry staffing)
