This 13-week travel nurse assignment is at a 250-bed academic community hospital — the region's only designated Chest Pain Center and a Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center. Job Details
- Location: Danville, VA 24541 (Pittsylvania County) — 45 miles north of Greensboro, NC
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse / Contract
- Duration: 13 weeks (April 14, 2026 – July 14, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends as needed
- Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Setting: 31-bed Emergency Department (ED) with 2 triage rooms — all ages (pediatrics to adult)
- Electronic Health Record: MedHost (ED), Meditech (admit holds & behavioral health)

Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience
- Active RN license (compact license accepted where applicable)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC (Handle with Care available on-site)
- Professional, compassionate, positive attitude and strong team collaboration skills
- Must reside at least 60 miles from Danville, VA to qualify as a traveler
- All required certifications, background checks, and screenings must be completed prior to start date
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced ED
- Manage an average patient ratio of approximately 1:4 (subject to department needs)
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and ancillary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other units as needed to support hospital operations
- Accurately document patient care using MedHost and Meditech EHR systems
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols
