• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110 - $2,220 (Travel RN pay)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: May 4, 2026
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:30 - 08:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), 8 beds (Cardiac ICU)
• Patient Ratio: 1:2 (1:1 for first 12 hours post-op)
• Patient Age Range: Adults to Geriatrics

Job Requirements (CVICU RN / Travel Nurse)

• Minimum 1 year of CVICU or open heart experience required (2+ years preferred)
• Travel RN experience required (previous travel nurse assignments preferred)
• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Ability to float to IMC and other units as needed
• References: 2 satisfactory professional references from most recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN acceptable)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Local candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility

Responsibilities (Cardiac ICU RN / Critical Care)

• Provide immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients (CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, VATS, peripheral bypasses, EVAR)
• Perform post-op assessments, hemodynamic monitoring, and ongoing critical care management
• Manage ventilated patients and collaborate closely with respiratory therapy
• Monitor and manage FloTrac, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and other advanced cardiac devices
• Groin/radial artery management (fem stop, TR bands) and vascular access care
• Administer blood products, emergency medications, and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias; respond to cardiac emergencies
• Perform central and arterial line care, assist with chest tube insertion/removal
• Float to IMC (1:3 ratio) and other units within scope as needed
• Work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
