• Support Staff: LPNs and CNAs assist with vitals, point-of-care testing, and daily living activities

Required Qualifications (Med/Surg RN / Travel RN)

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing or Med/Surg RN roles
• Active RN license in Indiana or Compact State (Indiana travel nurse eligible)
• Current AHA BLS certification (ACLS preferred but not required)
• At least 6 months previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients on a Med/Surg unit (clinical patient care, assessments, and care planning)
• Administer medications safely, manage IV therapy, and perform blood administration per policy
• Perform head-to-toe assessments, monitor vital signs, and document findings in Meditech (electronic charting)
• Use equipment such as telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, and vein viewers to support patient monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, LPNs, CNAs, and therapists—to support positive patient outcomes
• Float between adult medical and surgical areas as needed; adapt to changing unit needs as a travel nurse
• Participate in hands-on orientation with a dedicated preceptor and engage in ongoing training while on assignment
• Maintain a professional appearance (dress code: any color scrubs, closed-toe shoes, long hair secured)
