- Location: Seattle, WA 98122 (Seattle nursing jobs, Washington travel nursing)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/18/2026 – End: 8/17/2026)
- Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110 – $2,230
- Setting: High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit (31 beds, 500-600 deliveries/month)
- Type: Travel Contract (travel nurse, travel RN opportunity)
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years recent L&D RN experience in high-acuity, fast-paced Labor & Delivery settings; 5 years high-risk experience highly preferred
- Travel Experience: Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Licensure: Active RN license (compact licenses honored) for Washington
- Certifications: BLS and NRP required; ACLS and AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate preferred
- Skills: Ability to circulate for C-sections, assist with vaginal deliveries, and provide comprehensive newborn care (eyes, Vitamin K, Thighs, newborn assessments)
- Charting: Proficient with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring
- References & Screening: Current supervisory references required; must provide proof of certifications and pass clinical review
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including high-risk cases and high-volume shifts in a busy L&D unit
- Function as Baby Nurse during deliveries and provide immediate newborn care until transfer to postpartum
- Circulate for C-sections, assist with vaginal deliveries, and support the surgical team as needed
- Administer medications per protocol, including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Perform newborn assessments, prophylactic eye care, Vitamin K administration, and initial stabilization
- Float to Postpartum/Antepartum units and sister facilities as required to support patient care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including midwifery, obstetricians, recovery services, and community clinics
- Utilize EPIC for documentation and electronic fetal monitoring to ensure accurate charting and compliance
- Follow AWHONN staffing guidelines, unit policies, and safety protocols for high-acuity maternal-newborn care
- Work every other weekend and holidays as needed; schedule is posted every 6 weeks
