Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state or compact as applicable)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience — telemetry nurse / med-surg RN experience required
• Required certifications must be current at time of submission (examples may include BLS, ACLS, Telemetry certification as applicable)
• Must live at least 60 miles from Los Alamos to qualify as a traveler
• Ability to start orientation on a Monday

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit as an acute care RN
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to provider orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, case management) to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions to support positive outcomes
