- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour night shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs required
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PICU RN / Pediatric ICU RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Albany, New York. This role is ideal for a critical care pediatric nurse with at least 1 year of recent Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience who thrives in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU / Pediatric ICU.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and progress using Epic EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications, titrate infusions, manage ventilators and other life-support devices, and perform PICU-specific interventions as prescribed.
- Provide family-centered education and support to patients' families during critical care stays.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, pediatric critical care standards, and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (New York State or compact; pending NY license considered).
- Minimum 1 year of recent Pediatric Cardiac ICU or PICU experience (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience strongly preferred).
- Epic EMR experience required (experience with electronic charting in a pediatric critical care setting preferred).
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced critical care environment.
- Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and effective communication skills with families and clinical teams.
