• Job Title: Med/Surg Tele Float RN / Travel Nurse
• Location: Boone, NC 28607 (Watauga County) — Boone, North Carolina travel nursing job
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 8/10/2026)
• Setting: Stepdown / MedSurg (Telemetry) — float role
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:00), weekdays with up to 2 weekends per month
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,860 – $1,960
• Type: Travel, On-Site (travel nursing role)

Required Qualifications

• Active NC or Multistate Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (travel nursing experience preferred)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required; current for contract duration)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR (recent experience required)
• Comfort floating between Stepdown (telemetry) and Med/Surg units as needed
• Flexible scheduling and willingness to float (blocked schedules considered if requested at submittal)
• Willingness to work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the contract
• Uniform: all white or all navy scrubs required
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Candidate must reside at least 40 miles from facility (travel nurse housing eligibility)

Key Responsibilities

• Float between Stepdown (telemetry) and Med/Surg units based on patient volume and facility needs
• Provide high-quality nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients across Med/Surg and Stepdown settings
• Monitor telemetry, perform patient assessments, and respond to changes in condition
• Manage typical patient ratios of 1:5–6, varying by unit and acuity
• Administer medications, manage oxygen therapy, and perform non-invasive airway management
• Maintain peripheral line care and adhere to isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Participate in rapid response/code teams as required
• Document care accurately and efficiently using EPIC EMR
• May be required to assist at CNA level within scope of practice when unit needs dictate
