CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Travel Nurse Assignment – Nashville, TN

Travel Nurse opportunity for an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) in Nashville, TN — 13-week cardiac ICU assignment caring for post-operative patients. Ideal for critical care RNs with strong hemodynamic and advanced cardiac device experience.

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: April 27, 2026
• End Date: July 27, 2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: 16-bed Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) with 24/7 intensivist coverage; typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, with 1:1 ratio for patients on advanced cardiac devices such as ECMO, LVAD, or Impella.
• Scheduling: 2 weekends/month, 1 summer holiday, 2 winter holidays

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active RN license (compact or state-specific per assignment requirements)
• Minimum 1 year recent CVICU or critical care RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring and PA catheter (Swan-Ganz) management
• Preferred: Experience with IABP, Impella, CRRT, ECMO, Centrimags, and LVAD management
• Ability to float to other ICUs or units as needed; flexibility for travel nurse assignments

Responsibilities

• Provide expert post-operative care to cardiac surgery patients in the CVICU, including ECMO and LVAD patients
• Perform and assist with advanced procedures: central line and Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, intubations, and complex hemodynamic interventions
• Monitor and manage patients using Phillips bedside telemetry, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps
• Document patient care and clinical assessments in Meditech (EMR)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members—cardiac surgeons, intensivists, perfusionists, and respiratory therapists—to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, quality improvement, and critical care nursing best practices
