Job Details — Labor & Delivery Travel Nurse (Dallas, TX)
- Location: Dallas, Texas 75203 — Dallas nursing jobs / Texas travel nursing
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 5/18/2026 – End: 8/17/2026)
- Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
- Unit: Labor & Delivery — 21 beds, 12 rooms, avg daily census: 10
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Call: One per pay period
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling
Job Requirements — L&D RN / Registered Nurse
- Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (OB nurse / perinatal experience required)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Texas or compact state
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, FHM, NRP (AHA preferred; military acceptable)
- Experience with Epic electronic charting system required
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Ability to complete required online modules (8–12 hours) pre-start and during orientation
Responsibilities — Labor & Delivery Nurse (L&D)
- Provide comprehensive antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum nursing care for mothers and newborns
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections (C-sections), and obstetrical emergencies
- Perform newborn assessments, support breastfeeding/lactation, and provide family-centered education
- Administer medications and therapies including magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and anticoagulation
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate tracings using EFM and IUPC; strong fetal monitoring skills required
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (OB providers, anesthesia, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services)
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic and participate in quality and safety initiatives
- Participate in call rotation and provide scheduled weekend coverage
