- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,040 – $2,150
- Unit: 24-bed Cardiothoracic ICU (CVICU)
- Charting: Epic (Epic experience preferred)
- Scrub Color: Navy
Job Requirements (CVICU RN Qualifications)
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or cardiothoracic ICU experience required
- Active RN license in Colorado or Compact RN license accepted
- Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Experience with Epic electronic health record preferred
- Ability to float to similar critical care units as needed
- Weekend shifts required per unit needs
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
Responsibilities (Cardiothoracic / Critical Care Nursing)
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients after complex cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, and ventricular assist devices (VAD/Ventricular Assist Device)
- Manage advanced life support equipment and therapies, including ventilator management, arterial lines, central access, and vasoactive drips
- Perform ongoing patient assessment, titration of therapies, and critical care interventions in the CVICU
- Document patient care, assessments, and progress accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with physicians, perfusionists, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members for coordinated, patient-centered care
- Participate in patient and family education and provide emotional support during recovery
- Adhere to infection prevention protocols, safety standards, and unit policies
