• Charting: Epic (Epic experience preferred)
• Scrub Color: Navy

Job Requirements (CVICU RN Qualifications)

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or cardiothoracic ICU experience required
• Active RN license in Colorado or Compact RN license accepted
• Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Experience with Epic electronic health record preferred
• Ability to float to similar critical care units as needed
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

Responsibilities (Cardiothoracic / Critical Care Nursing)

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients after complex cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, and ventricular assist devices (VAD/Ventricular Assist Device)
• Manage advanced life support equipment and therapies, including ventilator management, arterial lines, central access, and vasoactive drips
• Perform ongoing patient assessment, titration of therapies, and critical care interventions in the CVICU
• Document patient care, assessments, and progress accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, perfusionists, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members for coordinated, patient-centered care
• Participate in patient and family education and provide emotional support during recovery
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols, safety standards, and unit policies
