Job Details – Travel RN (Telemetry)

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660 - $1,750 (competitive travel RN pay)
  • Location: Winston-Salem, NC (zip 27103) — Winston-Salem / Forsyth County, North Carolina nursing jobs
  • Unit: Clinical Pre & Post Unit (Cardiac) – Telemetry (cardiac telemetry nurse)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 - 07:00) — Night Shift RN / Telemetry RN
  • Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours)
  • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5-6 (cardiac telemetry ratio)
  • Start Date: May 18, 2026
  • Floating: Required as needed to similar units (flexible travel nurse)

Job Requirements – Registered Nurse (Telemetry)

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience (cardiac telemetry, high-acuity cardiac care)
  • Current Registered Nurse license (NC or Compact) — RN license required
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
  • IV start and telemetry skills required; experience with arterial & venous sheaths helpful
  • Epic charting experience preferred (electronic medical record experience)
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start (telemetry EKG competency)
  • Comfortable with rapid patient turnover, high patient acuity, and cardiac procedure caseload
  • Ability to float to similar units based on census and skill set (flexible travel RN)
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Registered Nurse Responsibilities – Cardiac Telemetry

  • Provide care for pre/post cardiac procedure patients including cath, PPM & AICD, Watchman procedures, stress tests, and management of arterial & venous sheaths
  • Monitor and manage cardiac arrhythmias and cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Renal Dose Dopamine, Lasix, non-titrating Nitro)
  • Utilize in-room monitoring and EKG capabilities, remote telemetry monitoring, and lift equipment
  • Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and implement isolation precautions/PPE
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • Float to other units as needed based on census and skill set (travel nurse flexibility)
  • Maintain accurate documentation using the Epic charting system (EMR charting)
  • Participate in self-scheduling and adhere to fatigue policy (no more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours/week)
