Job Details
- Location: Boston, MA 02118 (Boston healthcare / Massachusetts nursing jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse – 13-week travel assignment
- Unit: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Nursing (PACU nurse / post-anesthesia care)
- Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 18, 2026)
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts, rotating days and evenings (available for combinations: 6a-6:30p, 7a-7:30p, 8a-8:30p, 9a-9:30p, 10a-10:30p, 11a-11:30p)
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 – $2,010 (travel nurse compensation)
- Weekend/Holiday: Every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday as needed
- Float: May float to Moakley PACU if needed
- On-Call: No call required
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to practice in Massachusetts) – Registered Nurse (RN)
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience with strong Phase I recovery experience for large, complex cases (neuro, thoracic, vascular, ortho spine)
- Pediatric PACU experience required (pediatric experience)
- Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks (telemetry competency required)
- Must pass Telemetry test on Day 1 with 84% or better
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS; TNCC preferred
- Skills: perioperative nursing, post-operative monitoring, critical thinking, multidisciplinary team collaboration
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care in a busy PACU setting as a PACU nurse, managing a variety of complex cases including trauma, pediatrics, ortho, general, cardiac cath, interventional radiology, neuro, and electrophysiology
- Monitor and assess patients during post-anesthesia recovery (Phase I recovery), ensuring patient safety, comfort, and effective pain management
- Interpret telemetry rhythm strips and respond appropriately to cardiac events and arrhythmias
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered perioperative and post-operative care
- Float to other units (such as Moakley PACU) as needed and adapt to varied clinical environments
- Maintain accurate documentation, adhere to hospital policies, and follow infection control and patient safety protocols
