• Shift: Day Shift, 3x12-Hour (06:45 – 19:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: 2 West Med Surg RN (Med-Surg unit)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Weekend Requirement: Available for 4 out of 8 weekend shifts in each 4-week schedule
• Facility Housing: Available

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience; travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
• Active RN license (Compact license accepted where applicable) — Registered Nurse required
• AHA BLS certification required; preferred: ACLS, PALS, CPI
• Experience with electronic medical record/charting systems
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• Ability to float to other units as needed (including 3W and other med/surg areas)
• Must work 3 out of 5 winter holidays if contract period includes those dates

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients on a busy Med-Surg unit
• Manage a 1:5 patient ratio; prioritize patient safety and clinical outcomes
• Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and document care accurately in the EMR
• Perform and manage procedures including BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tube care, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube management, IV starts, wound care, and more
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV team, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Maintain proper isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Float to other units as required to support patient care needs and unit staffing
