Work in a state-of-the-art 5-room Cardiac Cath Lab providing critical care to adult and geriatric patients in a collaborative, high-acuity environment. Job Details – Travel RN / Cath Lab RN
- Assignment Type: Travel RN – 13 weeks
- Location: Springfield, Illinois • Springfield, IL 62781 • Illinois nursing jobs
- Facility: Acute Care, Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated Hospital
- Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab (5 rooms; average daily census: 25)
- Shifts: 12-hour day shifts; 3 shifts per week (06:30 – 19:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Start Date: May 11, 2026
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,430 – $2,550 (competitive travel RN pay)
- Weekend Requirement: 2–3 weekends per contract
- On-Call: Required as needed
- Charting: Cerner experience preferred
- Scrubs: Provided
- Parking: Free with permit
Qualifications – Cath Lab RN / Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of application)
- Minimum 1 year recent Cath Lab RN / Interventional Cardiology experience (travel nurse experience a plus)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or Red Cross)
- Experience with Cerner electronic charting system
- Required interventional experience: Circulate Procedures, Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult), Left & Right Heart Catheterization
- Hemodynamic monitoring experience: Pulmonary Artery Line / Swan-Ganz monitoring
- Medication & sedation experience: Procedural Sedation Administration and Monitoring
- Clinical skills: Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Ability to float within scope of practice to support facility needs
- Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment spans holiday periods
Key Responsibilities – Cath Lab Registered Nurse
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures
- Circulate and assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in the Cath Lab
- Administer, monitor, and document procedural sedation and patient responses
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and respond to changes in patient condition
- Monitor and manage patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, including hemodynamic monitoring
- Collaborate closely with interventional cardiologists, cath lab techs, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams including rapid response
- Float to other units within scope as needed to support hospital operations and patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner and complete required orientation modules prior to start
