ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift float pool in Geneva, NY. Travel nursing contract with diverse critical care and ED experience in the scenic Finger Lakes.
Job Details
- Location: Geneva, NY (14456) – Finger Lakes region; New York nursing jobs and travel nurse opportunity
- Contract Duration: 14 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 8/15/2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 – $2,250 (competitive travel RN pay)
- Schedule: Full-time, 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:30am), 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week; includes holidays and every other weekend
- On-Call: 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period
- Float Requirement: Must float between Med/Surg, ICU, and ED at GGH & SSMH locations (Float Pool / Critical Care RN responsibilities)
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (NYS RN) license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care (ICU/Telemetry/ED experience preferred)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or RQI)
- NIHSS certification required
- Willing to obtain Basic Coronary Care within 6 months and CPI within 90 days of hire
- Ability to float between ICU, ER, Med/Surg, and MST units; flexible travel RN mindset
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Computer literate; experience with EMR and Microsoft Office preferred
- Preferred: Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) certification and TNCC within 2 years of hire
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care across the lifespan (pediatric to geriatric) in ICU, Med/Surg, and ED settings
- Float between multiple units and both hospital locations to meet patient care demands as a Float Pool RN / Travel RN
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide age-appropriate, developmentally informed care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and quality metrics
- Participate in on-call rotations, holiday coverage, and weekend shifts as required
- Promote a healing environment through professionalism, effective communication, and teamwork
