Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 – $1,940 (Competitive travel nursing pay)
- Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama (35401) — Travel Nurse opportunity
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00–07:00) — Night Shift RN / Telemetry RN
- Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours per week)
- Start Date: May 26, 2026
- Unit: 42-bed Heart Failure / Stroke (Med/Surg Telemetry)
- EMR: Meditech
- Parking: Available
- Dress Code: Solid Navy Scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or recognized Compact Nursing License (No temporary licenses accepted)
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (18 months considered if practicing under highest-level professional license)
- At least 1 year recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry (Telemetry RN, Med/Surg RN experience required)
- Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed (flexible travel nurse assignments)
Preferred Certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale certification or Red Cross equivalent preferred
- Experience caring for heart failure, acute stroke, and other neuro-cardiac populations
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients with cardiac and neurological diagnoses, including congestive heart failure and acute stroke
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac tele monitoring, and escalate changes in patient status appropriately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including cardiologists and neurologists to deliver evidence-based, best-practice care
- Manage a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 in a fast-paced telemetry environment
- Document all patient care accurately and timely in Meditech EMR
- Float to other units or facilities as needed to support staffing and patient care needs
- Work every other weekend and holidays as required by unit schedule
