Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 – $1,940 (Competitive travel nursing pay)
• Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama (35401) — Travel Nurse opportunity
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00–07:00) — Night Shift RN / Telemetry RN
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours per week)
• Start Date: May 26, 2026
• Unit: 42-bed Heart Failure / Stroke (Med/Surg Telemetry)
• EMR: Meditech
• Parking: Available
• Dress Code: Solid Navy Scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or recognized Compact Nursing License (No temporary licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (18 months considered if practicing under highest-level professional license)
• At least 1 year recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry (Telemetry RN, Med/Surg RN experience required)
• Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed (flexible travel nurse assignments)

Preferred Certifications

• NIH Stroke Scale certification or Red Cross equivalent preferred
• Experience caring for heart failure, acute stroke, and other neuro-cardiac populations

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients with cardiac and neurological diagnoses, including congestive heart failure and acute stroke
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac tele monitoring, and escalate changes in patient status appropriately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including cardiologists and neurologists to deliver evidence-based, best-practice care
• Manage a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 in a fast-paced telemetry environment
• Document all patient care accurately and timely in Meditech EMR
• Float to other units or facilities as needed to support staffing and patient care needs
• Work every other weekend and holidays as required by unit schedule
