Job Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
• Registered Nurse license in Alabama or a Compact State (no temporary licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS and ACLS certification (required)
• NIH Stroke Certification or Red Cross equivalent (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (consideration for 18 months if all other requirements are met)
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (telemetry RN experience required)
• Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide expert, evidence-based care to patients with neurological and cardiac diagnoses, including congestive heart failure and acute stroke
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists and neurologists to deliver best-practice telemetry and stroke care
• Manage a typical 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in a fast-paced acute care / telemetry setting
• Float to other units and hospitals as required to support patient care
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Meditech EMR
• Adhere to facility protocols and dress code
