Job Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
- Registered Nurse license in Alabama or a Compact State (no temporary licenses accepted)
- AHA BLS and ACLS certification (required)
- NIH Stroke Certification or Red Cross equivalent (required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (consideration for 18 months if all other requirements are met)
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (telemetry RN experience required)
- Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide expert, evidence-based care to patients with neurological and cardiac diagnoses, including congestive heart failure and acute stroke
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists and neurologists to deliver best-practice telemetry and stroke care
- Manage a typical 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in a fast-paced acute care / telemetry setting
- Float to other units and hospitals as required to support patient care
- Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Meditech EMR
- Adhere to facility protocols and dress code
