Labor & Delivery RN (Travel Nurse) in Fort Defiance, AZ — seeking an experienced RN (5+ years) with NRP, BLS and ACLS/ALSO for maternity, postpartum and newborn care.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Fort Defiance, AZ 86504 (Arizona travel nursing job)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 4/17/2026
- End Date: 7/17/2026
- Setting: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Care (maternity nurse / perinatal care)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (must be flexible to work day shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700 – $2,840 (competitive travel nurse pay)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific privileges may apply)
- Required certifications:
- American Heart Association ACLS or ALSO
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or RNC-EFM
- Ability to float to other qualified departments as needed
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive maternal and newborn nursing care in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units
- Support Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) practices, including rooming-in
- Assist with an average of ~40 deliveries and ~6 C-sections per month
- Serve as charge nurse on occasion after orientation/training
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (OB/GYN, pediatrics, anesthesia, support staff) to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other departments as needed to provide patient care or task-oriented support
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold high standards of patient safety and quality care
