We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RN / Telemetry Nurse (Travel Nurse) to join a dynamic team at a leading hospital and wellness center in zip code 53718. This acute care nursing job offers hands-on patient care on a 28-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit and a supportive interdisciplinary team.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Madison, WI 53718 — Madison healthcare / Wisconsin nursing jobs
• Setting: 28-bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry Unit (5th Floor)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 5/18/2026 – End: 8/17/2026)
• Shifts: 3 x 12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30); includes weekend & holiday rotations
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,070 – $2,180 (competitive travel nurse pay)

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in Med/Surg Tele specialty (Telemetry RN / Med-Surg RN experience required)
• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• BLS certification (AHA only)
• Epic EMR / Epic charting experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry competency test prior to start (strict pass/fail criteria)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float to other units or downtown locations as needed

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses (orthopedic, neuro-spine, bariatric, general surgery)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, manage dysrhythmias, and collaborate with the team on cardiac events
• Administer medications including insulin, heparin, and blood products per policy
• Perform wound care including wound vac management and implement isolation precautions/PPE
• Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, and manage peripheral lines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (PT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response) to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a positive, collaborative work environment
• Float to other units as required by staffing needs
