Job Details – Telemetry Nurse / Travel Nurse

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Location: Freeport, IL (61032) — Illinois nursing job
• Position: Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract
• Setting: Acute Care – 18-bed Telemetry Unit (cardiac telemetry)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:30am), every other weekend
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Orientation: 2 x 12-hour shifts

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license — required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry RN experience; 2+ years preferred
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• Experience with post-cath lab recovery and stroke care strongly preferred
• Comfort with drip management (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Heparin)
• Phlebotomy skills and MEDITECH charting experience are a plus
• Previous employment at any FHN Memorial location must be disclosed upon submission

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac and neurological diagnoses (Stroke, CHF, ACS, CAD, post-heart cath, arrhythmias)
• Monitor telemetry strips, sign off on telemetry documentation, and participate in central telemetry monitoring
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs and monitor techs to deliver high-quality acute care
• Float to ICU, Med/Surg, and ER as needed within RN scope of practice
• Utilize respiratory support equipment (BiPAP, High Flow) per unit protocols
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using MEDITECH and unit workflows
• Participate in holiday rotation and every other weekend scheduling
